Meet Lauren Young – CEO and Founder of Freshly Baked Communications
Why did you name your company Freshly Baked Communications?
After starting my marketing career at Kraft Foods, I realized the effect that delicious food has on everyone. Great food is nostalgic, comforting, a staple in celebrations and it brings people together. I wanted my business name to reflect the type of work I do for others as memorable and worthy of attention.
For which industries has FBC written material?
We've written for the retail and consumer packaged goods industries for corporations such as OfficeMax and Kraft Foods, the science/technology and healthcare industries when completing projects for Siemens, Zebra Technologies and AHIMA. We have also provided content for the education and non-profit industries at companies including Kaplan and DePaul University.
Has your company received any awards for writing?
Yes, my favorite came in 2008 for the Google Online Marketing Challenge. We placed in the top three percent of all participants in the world who wrote and executed a successful online marketing plan for a local business. It’s a nice endorsement to our ability to write word content for business websites!
