Shana Price and Allison Denny, co-owners of Stems, Inc., met in 1995 while working together in the floral industry. Price, with a background in jewelry design, and Denny, with a background in vocal performance, had a vision to open a small, stylish, innovative flower shop in Chicago's up and coming West Town neighborhood.

In January 2001, the partners opened the original retail store, located at 521 N Halsted St. Customers came back repeatedly to purchase Stems creative and surprising designs for their homes, corporate events, gifts, and weddings. In July of 2003, with a growing wedding business, they decided to open an additional branch, Studio Stems, to provide a dramatic showroom and workspace to expand their special event services. As their success story continued, it became clear that the next step would be to consolidate their retail store, design studio, and offices into one flagship location at 850 N Ashland Ave.

Currently, Price and Denny maintain their priority of staying closely involved with the buying, styling, and production of their designs. They have now added several amazing and talented designers to the mix, as well as great drivers/assistants to lend a hand. Their thriving business and creative atmosphere always keep them on the cutting edge of flower design in Chicago for weddings, special events, corporate accounts, and everyday, unforgettable floral designs.
