The IMPORTANCE of Long Term Care Planning
With the aging of America long term care has become a national concern as roughly 70 percent of people older than age 65 will require some form of long-term care, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: That’s nearly 3 in 4 of all Americans.

Seventy-seven percent of Americans aged 30 to 65 think they should know more about LTCI than they currently do, according to a Long Term Care Cost Study published by Prudential. Again, that’s more than 3 in 4 of us!

The vast majority of care received at home and in long-term care facilities is not covered by standard insurance. Long Term Care insurance covers on-going care required by those unable to care for themselves at home or in a community. It is more important than ever for everyone, to understand and plan ahead for long-term care.

Most people first learn about long-term care when they or a loved one needs care. But then their options are often limited by an urgent need for care, not enough time to get the information they need, and not enough money to pay for the care. Planning ahead allows you to have more control over your future, including protecting the quality of life for you and your loved ones. Use this guide as your first step in planning for long-term care.

Health care costs are increasing 4-5% every year, leaving people vulnerable to the devastating costs of uninsured long-term care.

LTC is not just for the frail elderly at the end of their lives! 40% of people requiring long term care services are between the ages of 18-64 and can be utilized at home or a variety of settings.
