SBAC Launches Co-Branded Business Credit Card with MB Financial
We are excited to announce that the SBAC and MB Financial Bank have partnered to bring SBAC members a small business credit card that offers the same consumer protections available on personal cards with the more robust online account management business people need. The MB Platinum MasterCard® Business Card includes the following protections:

• Provides a 45-day notice period before any change in terms, rates or fees
• Has uniform credit card payment due dates every month
• Will apply any rate increases only to new purchases made after any rate
change becomes effective
• There will be no rate increases for the first twelve months after account
opening

SBAC Hosts Free Small Business Boot Camp December 13
Join the SBAC and Sam’s Club for our Grow Your Business Boot Camp on Friday, December 13 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Lutheran Center Conference Center, located at 8765 W. Higgins Road, in Chicago. The free boot camp will offer two different tracks, along with a continental breakfast, from which participants may attend three workshops from one of the following tracks: Access to Capital and Building your Business.

Lake County Chapter Hosts
Quarterly Lunch and Learns Starting this November

Join the SBAC Lake County Chapter on Tuesday, November 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the first quarterly educational event lunch and learn at the state-of-the-art University Center of Lake County/Grayslake. The educational focus this month is on Key Performance Indicators presented by Bonnie Richtman from Peak Performance/Action Coach. This lunch will include time to network, learn from a short presentation, ask questions and enjoy lunch. RSVP required (click here to reserve your spot)!

Wellness Committee Launches Wellness Wednesdays
Our SBAC Wellness Committee is kicking off another fantastic initiative to educate our members on the importance of health and wellness in our personal and professional lives. Look for our “Wellness Wednesday” posts on our SBAC Facebook page that offer you great tips and advice on a variety of wellness issues! Each post will be designated with the committee’s new SBAC Wellness Committee logo. A big thanks to our Wellness Committee, led by Danielle Girdano with D’Fine Sculpting & Nutrition, for their continued commitment and support to keeping the SBAC and our members healthy and productive!

SBAC Efforts to Lower LLC Fees Continue to Gain Traction
Our efforts to lower LLC fees for small business continue to gain traction with 31 chambers and business groups currently in our coalition. Weare excited to report that Senator Morrison, 29th Senate District, from Deerfield will be signing on as a co-sponsor of our bill as a result of a recent meeting with a group of SBAC members.

Regus Joins SBAC Office Sharing Program
The SBAC’s Office Sharing program offers our members the ability to access office space throughout the Chicagoland area. This service is free to members and only requires that you contact the SBAC so that we can check on availability and reserve one of the office spaces listed below for you. Many members have made their offices and conference rooms available to other SBAC members for meetings and appointments.

Special thanks to Regus which recently added their 30+ office locations throughout the city and suburbs to the mix of office space available to SBAC members. Head over to our Member Benefits section (Office Sharing) our web site to see available office space.

New Lake County Breakfast Location: The Liberty Restaurant!

Come out and join us at our NEW Lake County breakfast location, The Liberty Restaurant, located at 419 S Milwaukee Ave in Libertyville! Our kickoff breakfast will be on Tuesday, November 5th.

The SBAC is a non-partisan, member driven organization that promotes the success of small business through political advocacy, support services and educational programs. The Small Business Advocacy Council (SBAC) was established in 2010 and represents nearly 800 businesses in the Chicagoland area.

The SBAC played an instrumental role in procuring the right for small businesses to have access to the state’s first consumer owned healthcare cooperative. Currently, the SBAC is fighting to lower Illinois’ excessively high LLC fees.

The SBAC is hosting a New Member Orientation where new members can learn all about the benefits of SBAC membership and how to get involved! After the presentation we encourage everyone to stay for the lunch and get to know some of our new members. This New Member Orientation will be held at the Parthenon, located at 314 S. Halsted St., on Monday, December 9th, from 11am to 1pm.

SBAC CEO Elliot Richardson will also welcome and address the group.

Don’t Miss This Business Networking Event!! SCORE is celebrating 50 years helping small business owners. This anniversary event will be held at Galleria Marchetti, located at 825 W. Erie St. in Chicago, on Tuesday, November 5th, from 6pm to 9pm.

One of the speakers at this great event will be none other than the SBAC’s own CEO, Elliot Richardson. He will be joined by City of Chicago Treasurer Stephanie Neely and Martin Korves, of SMB Help Desk, Inc. (a Microsoft Partner).
