We are excited to share the First Annual Report on small business contracts. As you know, the SBAC worked hard last year to pass the Small Business Contract Act. This law created a small business set aside program for all state contracts. The program provides that at least 10% of the total dollar amount of State contracts will be set as a goal to be awarded to small businesses.
The legislation also includes guidelines for the creation of plans to reach that goal and annually reporting of implementation.
Check out the summary of the key points of the Illinois Chief Procurement Office’s First Annual Report on small business contracts for fiscal year 2011 and its plans for FY12.
A special thank you to Representative LaShawn Ford for his work in support of the small business community!
