In April join us for our Annual Advocacy Awards Dinner on April 10th and the Chicago Cultural Center. Earlybird tickets are on-sale until March 31st and can be purchased by going on to our events calendar. We still have sponsorship and volunteer opportunities available. Please contact Mike Cavanaugh at mike@sbacil.org for more information regarding these opportunities. We are accepting donations for the silent auction as well. If you or someone you know would like to donate please contact Britney Zilz at bzilz@koreyrichardsonlaw.com.

The SBAC has a robust legislative agenda this year in Springfield focusing on lowering LLC fees (which are among the highest in the nation), ensuring that all Illinois businesses play on a level playing field when it comes to taxes, eliminating duplicative bonding requirements for contractors and bringing intrastate equity crowdfunding to Illinois. With a growing membership base, spanning over 78 of the 118 House Districts and 42 of the 59 Senate Districts, the SBAC can have a strong hand in improving Illinois’ fiscal condition and changing the narrative in our state.

For folks interested in actively engaging in our advocacy efforts, become a District Advocate. District Advocates serve as SBAC liaisons to their elected officials. By forming permanent relationships with our government officials, we can more successfully address the political issues that impact the small business community. For questions about our legislative initiatives or District Advocate program, contact Blanca Campos, SBAC Advocacy Director, at Blanca@sbacil.org.
