Mission of the SBAC – The SBAC is a non-partisan, member driven organization that promotes the success of small business through political advocacy, creating valuable connections and facilitating business relationships, cost-savings programs (including Office Depot program, office sharing, and strategic sponsorships offering members discounted services and products) and educational services.

· We believe that the success of small business is a critical component of the nation’s economic well-being

· We believe that in order to ensure a fair and level playing field, small business must have a powerful and united advocacy voice at the local, state and federal level

· We believe that through cooperative networking, idea sharing and education, small business can flourish


Veteran Hiring Success Stories: Join the SBAC Veterans Committee for Lunch and Learn August 19

The SBAC Veterans Committee will be hosting events open to all SBAC Members and guests on the third Monday of every month. The event is both an opportunity to network with fellow members as well as learn more about the many benefits of hiring or partnering with a military veteran.

Please join us at this month’s learning workshop lunch which will be held on Monday, August 19 at Greek Islands at noon. The topic is veteran hiring success stories and the skills that make veterans valuable additions to your business. RSVP with Blanca at Blanca@sbacil.org.

Whether you’re a new member or old, take advantage of our New Member Orientation Lunch to learn about all the benefits, programs and advocacy outreach the SBAC offers to you as a member on Monday, September 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Parthenon, located at 314 South Halsted, in Chicago. Our Membership Chair Melissa Ryzy, will lead the member orientation overview and our CEO, Elliot Richardson, will welcome the group. We thank SBAC Vice President Geoff Kasselman and Op2mize for sponsoring our New Member Orientations. Two New Mini-Meeting Locations this Month!

Please join us at two new and exciting mini-meeting locations in Chicago this month:

  • On Wednesday, August 14, join us at Multilingual Connections, located in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood at 2518 W Armitage Avenue at 8 am for a free continental
    breakfast and for those so inclined – an onsite Speed Spanish session by one of their Spanish instructors! Thanks to Jill Bishop and Multilingual Connections for hosting this event!
  • On Friday, August 16, join us for lunch at the Hard Rock Café, located at 63 W Ontario St in Chicago at noon
