The Small Business Contracts Act, an SBAC drafted bill, set a goal of 10% of all state procurement contracts to go to small business. This bill was signed into law last year by Gov. Quinn.
Currently, only 2% of state procurement contracts go to small business. The SBAC is committed to proving information on how to take advantage of the opportunities that are available for contracting with the government. The first step is to become certified.
The Women’s Business Development Center is hosting a webinar about certification by one of their resident experts. Local, state and federal certifications will be covered, along with the private certification offered by the Women’s Business Development Center.
